This is the ‘official’ website of the TR Drivers Club and caters for all enthusiasts of the Triumph TR Sports car range, from TR2 to TR8. We have a large and active membership spread across the United Kingdom and beyond. It is run on a voluntary basis, by true enthusiasts...who live, breathe and eat TRs!
TR Drivers National Weekend - 29th June to 1st July
This year the National Weekend is again being held at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon.
The dates of the weekend are the 29th June to 1st July. On Friday from 4pm those who wish to camp for the weekend can arrive and set up camp within the grounds of the museum. On Saturday 30th June we have a day of Triumph based activities. There is sumptuous road run through the Warwickshire countryside, over 40 miles of rolling countryside, created by local hero David Johnson. There will be evening activities to entertain those camping in the grounds.
On Sunday 1st July the British Motor Museum host the annual BMC & Leyland show and we will be taking part in this major event with our Built not Bought / Bought not Built National themed National day.
There is an array of mint restorations and rolling project planned for the display and there will of course be the usual informal concourse amongst other activities.
A real enthusiasts' Show celebrating the vehicles produced by BMC, British Leyland, The Rover Group and pre-BMC group. There will be cars, commercials and military vehicles on display, giving you the chance to see all sizes of vehicle from a Morris Mini Minor through to the large Rover 800s.
Convoys from the BMW MINI plant in Cowley and MG Longbridge factory will finish their respective runs at the Museum as they have done in previous years.
The entry form for this will be posted on the TR Drivers Club facebook page and TR Drivers website when available.
The costs of the National Weekend is per car and two passengers:
If you book in advance via the British Motor Museum website using the TR Drivers discount code the cost is £9.00 for the weekend with access to the museum on Saturday and Sunday. The Code is TR2018
If you want to come just on the Sunday in your TR book in advance using the BMC and Leyland Show vehicle entry form on the middle two pages of this issue of the TR Driver and it is £7.00.
You can also order up to two additional individual passes (for passengers), at £8.00 each. An individual pass gives entry to the show and the British Motor Museum.
If you do not book in advance the cost is £14.00 per person per day.
If you want to camp for the weekend it is an extra flat £25.00 charge whether you stay on Friday and Saturday or just the Saturday, this can be paid via the TR drivers.com website.
There is no access to the camping area until 4pm on the Friday. Advance booking must be done by 29th June 2018 to get the discounted entry prices.

Triumph Clubs picnic - Sunday 13th May at Wroxhall Abbey, near Warwick
The TR Drivers Club are proud to announce they are supporting the above event next month. This event has been organised by all the Triumph clubs and set in the wonderful grounds of Wroxhall Abbey, where the Roverfest took place last year. Please check your diaries as it would be great to see a large turnout of wedges.
Vehicles of Historical Interest (VHI): Substantial Change Guidance - with effect from 20th May 2018
Most vehicles manufactured or first registered over 40 years ago will, as of 20 May 2018, be exempt from periodic testing unless they have been substantially changed.
Large goods vehicles (i.e. goods vehicles with a maximum laden weight of more than 3.5 tonnes) and buses (i.e. vehicles with 8 or more seats) that are used commercially will not be exempted from periodic testing at 40 years.
A vehicle that has been substantially changed within the previous 30 years will have to be submitted for annual MoT testing. Whether a substantially changed vehicle requires re-registration is a separate process. Please read the details on the above tab for further guidance.

The Bullet Rally 2018 - ONLY 9 PLACES LEFT!!!!
The 2018 Bullet Run will take the form of the first ‘BULLET RALLY’. We are taking over the Radnorshire Arms Hotel in Presteigne, Wales for the Friday and Saturday. The run itself will take us to Epynt (Rally Stage area), Then to Brecon Beacon for some great driving roads and then we head back to the hotel via the Black Mountain Pass (the Top Gear road). Sunday will take us to Shelsley Walsh where we have the hill climb booked for the morning.Booking is NOW OPEN, please go onto the Bullet Rally tab to complete your registration. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from the organisers and regular updates. Places are limited to 24, so do not delay registering!
