To celebrate the Club's 40th anniversary - and also that of the last TR7 leaving the production line - we are hoping to run a relay event across the country. This will take place later in the year; COVID permitting. Where possible the relay will involve all the TR Driver Club Areas across the whole of the country; and I would really like to see as many of our members taking part as possible.

We plan to start in Inverness, Scotland and the idea is for local members to drive together from a starting point to be agreed by the area secretaries; say a pub car park, for instance, and take the baton [A futuristic design of the next TR designed by John Ashford,] to next Area Group. Here they can share a beer and have some social interaction together whilst handing the baton over. The recipient Area Group will then take the baton to the next Area Group; and so on across the country. The Area Secretary will liaise with the next secretary on the route to agree the baton hand over. Details of the route will be published in the magazine - and on the website - as things progress.

The relay will finish at Gaydon on Sunday 3rd October; with as many members attending as possible. The end of production was 5th October 1981, so this is the nearest date available! At Gaydon we hope to have some special guests available to meet you, and there will be commemorative items available to purchase!

How do I get involved?
To get involved please contact your nearest area secretary [or me] and register your interest. More details will be available in the next edition of the TR-Driver; and the event will be publicised via the usual channels including Facebook, the website and at the proposed TRDC National in July.
